Specializing in the medical treatment of adults, including obesity treatment, Dr. Okafor is the owner & operator of Sugarland Primary Care Physicians in Sugar Land, Texas. She is committed to providing excellent care to her patients to prevent recurrent hospitalizations and to ensure adequate management of chronic conditions along with preventive medicine so as to improve their overall quality of life.

Pertaining to her academic career, Dr. Okafor received her medical degree from the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston in 2007. Upon graduation, she went on to serve her residency in internal medicine at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston. 

Licensed to practice medicine in Texas, Kentucky, and Missouri, the doctor is board-certified in internal medicine and obesity medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world.

Internal medicine is the medical specialty dealing with the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of adult diseases. Physicians specializing in internal medicine are called internists. Dr. Okafor is  also board certified in Obesity Medicine and assists her patients in weight loss regimens tailored specifically to each individual for a healthier BMI.
