She then attended medical school at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas and was Chief Resident during her residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Parkland Hospital.

Among the doctor’s most notable achievements, she is board-certified in obstetrics and gynecology by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology (ABOG). The ABOG is a non-profit organization that provides board certification for practicing obstetricians and gynecologists in the United States and Canada.

Thrilled to return home to Austin, Dr. Garcia plans to build her practice by providing excellent care while fostering a relationship with her patients that is based on trust. She feels that women’s healthcare is an area of medicine where she can have a unique relationship with her patients on their journey through life – from the teenage years where a young woman learns how to trust and interact with her doctor to the postmenopausal age when the mature woman has concerns that are specialized and requires someone who is sensitive to her needs.
