Dr. Dr. Teresa B. Vereb, MD
Phychiatrist | Psychiatry
5015 Manatee Avenue West Bradenton Florida, 34209About
My psychiatric practice is based first on working with patients to make a diagnosis. Secondly, I choose to do different types of psychotherapy depending on the individual patients needs. Mainly I use supportive, cognitive, insight-oriented, and behavioral psychotherapy. If necessary, I use not only individual but also family and marital psychotherapy. I also offer different types of medication management, which also depends on the diagnosis of the individual patient. I am always open to adjust my time and availability to individual patient needs. I work not only in the office but I am available for telephone sessions if necessary. Every patient can get in touch with me on a 24 hour basis to ask medical questions or to get a response in an urgent situation. My practice is based on total understanding of patients' needs: physical, emotional, and spiritual. I try to help my patients to achieve stability in all areas of life.

What do you attribute your success to?
First to my God, who is always with me and reminds me, "Be not afraid." Secondly, to my family: my parents, my husband of 44 years, my 2 children, and my 6 grandchildren. Third, my passion for psychiatry driven by all my teachers in Warsaw, Poland, Slovakia, and the United States of America. Since the early years of medical school in Warsaw, Poland (my country) I developed a passion for Psychiatry. From the 3rd year of Medical School (we have 6 years of medical school) I was involved in student groups working with Psychiatric patients, doing extra lectures and some articles about recent developments in Psychiatry. I've always had a great interestinincorporating the mental, physical, emotional, and spiritual components of each patient in order to achieve a healthy life. I try to stress the ability to see life through positive experiences and also to be able to create positive experiences for my patients and others. I encourage the importance of enjoying the little things and seeing the joy in giving, rather than in receiving. Life is about serving andbeing able to see the person in front of us: to love, enjoy and appreciateeveryone and life in general.
Lastly, I dedicate my success to my hard work, dedication and love for the patients.
Areas of research
Depression, panic disorder, post-traumatic distress disorder, bipolar disorder, generalized anxiety disorder, and relational preoblems.
Philanthropic Initiatives
For many years I have had many philanthropic interests. I have been involved in scholarship programs as well as individual programs with many colleges and universities. These include the University of Florida in Gainesville, Ave Maria University, Thomas Aquinas College in California, and Hillsdale College. I have also been involved in missionary work with the Missionary Oblates of Mary Immaculate, Divine World Missionaries in the US and Ireland, St. Padre Pio Missionares, St. Jude, and the Marian Missionaries of Stockbridge. All of the above missions are involved with the poorest of the poor in the USA and abroad. I am deeply interested in anew evangelization for the young generation who are the future of this country and the world.
Teaching and speaking
I did some teaching in Medical School in Warsaw, Poland, and was working in voluntary groups for psychiatric patients in the state hospital. I moved to Slovakia and was working with patients and teaching in the Psychiatric Department of the Medical School in Kosice, Slovak Republic. Then, I was a clinical assistant in Mayor Memorial Hospital in Buffalo, NY. I was a resident in Shands Teaching Hospital, working in the Outpatient Department, in Gainesville, Florida. Later, I was Chief of Psychiatry in Manatee Memorial Hospital from 1981-1985 and 1987-1991. In 2000 I was a chairperson of the Manatee Memorial Hospital Psychiatric Unit. From 1980 until today I have been in a solo private practice in Bradenton, FLorida, doing individual, marital, and family therapy as well as medication management if there is a need. Therapy involves teaching the patient and family. I am available 24 hours a day.
