Can I give my 3 month old teething gel?
Your 3 months old does NOT need teething gel. The numbing medicine is toxic and easily absorbed from the mouth lining. It can cause heart rhythm problems that can be life-threatening. There are safe rubber toys to help with teething. If the infant is fussy despite chewing on those, there may be another cause for it, like being hungry, having a wet diaper and a sore diaper rash, needing human interaction, or even having colic. I hope this helps, Sincerely, Dr. Tania Condurache READ MORE
I'm worried about my height?
Good morning, and thank you for sharing your concerns. There are many ways to estimate your final adult height. Entering the data you shared, your estimated adult height is 5’8”. That seems like a great height to me. Besides, women too come in different heights: a petite woman would get a bad neck from constantly looking up at a very tall man. To answer your question from the medical perspective, you don’t seem to have a medical problem affecting your height. However, if you want to confirm that, you should see an endocrinologist, who can measure your hormone levels. Growth hormone injections can add a couple of inches to one’s height, but you need to have a medical diagnosis. Lastly, a man is as tall as his “date” sees him, and that has nothing to do with feet and inches. I recommend trying to grow as a person, learn the art of conversation, and try to stand out through qualities no woman could resist, like integrity, kindness, wit, sincerity. Get a good education in an area you are passionate about. Get involved in much needed service in your community. That will increase your confidence and self esteem, and your chances of meeting someone in person rather than on line. I hope this helps broaden your perspective on relationships, and realize how shallow is woman who shops for men based on size, as they would for clothing. Good luck to you! Dr. C P.S. keep up the healthy life style! READ MORE
Can teething cause coughing?
No, teething alone should not cause cough, nor fever. Teething can cause itching of the gums, and some drooling. I recommend seeing a healthcare provider to examine the baby and determine the cause of the cough, which is most likely a respiratory tract infection. Tania Condurache, MD, M.Sc READ MORE
