How should I sleep with a pulled leg muscle?
You should sleep in a position that is comfortable. The majority of the healing phase in your body, which includes muscle, occurs while you are sleeping. If you are unable to sleep you body has a difficult time properly healing and may delay recovery. Usually after straining a muscle (pulled muscle) decreasing the joint angle that the muscle controls is the most comfortable, but I tell my patients any position that allows you to sleep is better than not sleeping. Yes and no, getting adjusted is a great way to make sure your joints are moving properly and usually a chiropractor can prevent a disfunction/malfunction of a joint from occurring. Does a chiropractic adjustment help you mentally as well?
This is a difficult one to answer because there is not a lot of good research that directly shows the benefit to mental health, but there is an abundance of anecdotal articles that describe the benefits mentally post a chiropractic adjustment. I personally have many patients that come to my office and tell me how much they have benefitted mentally since getting adjusted. This ranges from being able to think more clearly, to feeling in a better mood and taking away the "pressure". READ MORE

How long does toxic release last after chiropractic adjustment?
"Toxic release", I am unsure what you mean by this term. There are gases that the joint capsule may release during the manipulation/adjustment treatment which can cause cavitation (joint cracking/popping) of the joint. Usually, release of that gas is relieving to the joint/area of manipulation. At times if the joint capsule is very tight and stiff you can have much soreness associated with the chiropractic manipulation/adjustment. That soreness typically last 1-2 days post-treatment. READ MORE

Is it safe to take a baby to a chiropractor?
It is absolutely safe to take your child to a chiropractor for an evaluation. They should be able to determine if your 3-year-old should need treatment. All chiropractors have training for treating children of all ages, including 3-year-olds, but there are also pediatric chiropractic specialists that have even further additional training in treating this specific demographic. How can I adjust my wrists myself?
There is no specific way to truly adjust oneself. You can manipulate yourself and may even get some relief from it, but in order to properly adjust through chiropractic manipulation a specialized training is necessary. Chiropractors study how the joints move and the specific way in which a correction needs to occur. Cavitation or popping/cracking is not the goal, it is proper joint motion. READ MORE

Is it bad to pop your fingers?
Not necessarily, the belief used to be that popping your fingers would "cause" arthritis. There is no evidence that shows that. The cavitation or "popping" noise is just gas being released from the joint, which does tend to feel better. The manor in which the joint is "popped" can be of concern, and potentially cause harm or damage. READ MORE
