Get to know Dentist Dr. Michael L. Tyler, who serves patients in Mount Pleasant, Tennessee.

Dr. Tyler, a board-certified dentist, offers comprehensive dental care at his private practice – Family Dentistry of Mount Pleasant – in Mount Pleasant, Tennessee. He works alongside Dr. Cameron Baker, providing dental services that include cosmetic and restorative services, as well as general preventive care.

A 1983 graduate of The University of Tennessee Health Science Center, Dr. Tyler is board-certified through the American Board of General Dentistry, which is dedicated to advancing the practice of general dentistry by promoting a higher standard of knowledge and excellence through advanced education.

With more than three decades of experience in the dental arena, he continues to profess dentistry with passion and an unwavering commitment to excellence in all facets of his work. In addition to being an active public speaker at a local level, he is a professional member of the American Dental Association, the International Association for Orthodontics, and the American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine.

Dentistry, also known as Dental and Oral Medicine, is a branch of medicine that consists of the study, diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of diseases, disorders, and conditions of the oral cavity. Dentists diagnose and treat dental issues and help patients develop better oral hygiene regimens. They clean teeth, correct bite issues, perform surgeries and extractions, and perform other duties to ensure that the teeth and mouth are healthy. 

Dr. Tyler believes that his success of nearly three decades in a highly challenging industry is attributable to his life experiences, his dedication in the Korean war, his excellent patients, his great staff and support group, as well as his ability to make a difference. He reads all major dental publications and research, which allows him to keep current with the newest developments, guidelines, and procedures in his field. 

When he is not tending to his patients’ dental needs, he enjoys spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and his friends. He also loves farm life.
