Get to know Pulmonologist Dr. Suman K. Sinha, who serves patients in Texarkana, Texas.

Attributing his success to adaptation to change in healthcare, hard work, and continued education, Dr. Sinha is a board-certified pulmonologist practicing at CHRISTUS St. Michael Health System in Texarkana, Texas.

Born in Lansing, Michigan, Dr. Sinha earned his bachelor’s degree in biochemistry from the University of California – San Diego, his master’s degree in business from the University of Phoenix, his master’s degree in molecular biology from San Diego State University, and his medical degree from St. George’s University School of Medicine. Thereafter, he completed his residency in internal medicine, his fellowship in pulmonary disease, and his fellowship in critical care medicine at Drexel University – Hahnemann University Hospital. 

In addition to being a Fellow of the American College of Chest Physicians and a Fellow of the  American College of Physicians, he is board-certified in internal medicine, pulmonary medicine, and critical care medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world.

Pulmonology is a medical specialty that deals with diseases involving the respiratory tract. A pulmonologist, like Dr. Sinha, is an internal medicine physician who specializes in preventing, diagnosing, and treating conditions and diseases that affect the lungs, bronchial tubes, and the respiratory system (including the nose, pharynx and throat).

Married with two daughters, Dr. Sinha enjoys spending time with his family, playing sports, reading, riding his bike, and listening to music. His favorite professional publications are the Journal of the American College of Chest Physicians, Annals of Internal Medicine, and the New England Journal of Medicine.
