How long do all on 4 implants last?
Depending on the bone quality, success of procedure, your medical status, any bite or jaw issues, absences of trauma to the face, i.e., car accident or assault and possible smoking habits they can vary. However, ideally the implants themselves tend to last for decades. Most "failures" are typically associated with the denture or new prosthesis breaking or failing 15 to 20 years, rather than the actual surgically placed implants themselves. The solution usually might simply be a replacement of the denture or prosthesis should that occur. A very non invasive procedure. In theory, implants are supposed to last. READ MORE

Can you get Invisalign with an implant?
It is possible, but if you have an implant already, you will need to be specifically evaluated to see what your goals are and if the result will be ideal to you. The implant won't be able to move unlike the non implanted tooth, so location of your implant is also important vs. What the issue is to be corrected. READ MORE

How long does it take for oil pulling to heal gums?
It doesn't. If there are signs of healing in the gums, it would be your own body that heals your gums. Also, oil pulling claims are for teeth and to lessen bacterial counts in mouth. How is tooth decay caused?
Tooth decay is a multi factorial disease. Primarily it is caused by toxins and acids released by bacteria found in plaque that attack the tooth structure and break it down. Sugar feeds these bacteria. Brushing lessens the bacterial count in the mouth. However, other factors such as mineral content of the teeth, the ability of the saliva and its chemical composition can influence the likelihood of the development of decay. This may vary from person to person. Having said that, brushing, oral hygiene, and being aware of sugar intake, as well as fluoride use can help minimize the chances of decay. READ MORE

My daughter fell and broke her front two teeth. What should we do?
It really depends on how bad she broke her teeth and if the teeth are primary or adult teeth. If primary teeth, they fall out or she loses them by 6 or so. If adult teeth, you should have them fixed asap. The degree by which it broke will affect outcome. Without seeing it, it could be anything from a simple chip which is more of an esthetic and minor function complication. Or a major break with nerve involvement, which will lead to the devitalization of the tooth. It will require more treatment. See your dentist for recommendation. READ MORE

I went to Dr. Wu for a toothache. I am terrified of dentists and had avoided fixing my teeth forever but this hurt too much. I just moved to town and he was recommended to me by my boss. I was so scared I almost didn't go. When I got there, The staff was very friendly and courteous. After a thorough examination, Dr. Wu told me I needed a root canal and I was like omg. I almost had a panic attack but he reassured me everything would be fine and I really liked that he explained the procedure to me. I was skeptical but I was in so much pain....because he did not have time to complete a root canal (he squeezed me into his schedule as an emergency), he took out the nerve in my tooth to get me out of pain. I didn't feel the needle or the procedure, I was shocked. He was super nice, very understanding with my nervousness and told me step by step what he was doing while joking around with me and his assistant. I felt so much better that night. The next week I returned to finish my root canal. Completely painless and quick. I was so glad I went to see Dr. Wu. He is the best. I recommend him to anyone who needs a dentist.
