Areas of research

  • 1) Biomedical research began in cardiology - artificial hearts and prosthetic materials in the film industry to develop a biopolymer that could be used as an artificial?periodontium or gum that could be cut, sutured ie "Gumtex". draped over bovine bone embedded into (25 patient dental impressions taken) a white polymer used in light plate switch covers that had the same consistency of enamel when drilling. The (world's least inexpensive) self contained models could fit into all dental schol dummy heads (Columbia dentoform or Frasaco). The models can be sued for restorative, prosthodontic, cosmetic, implant placement, suturing, and most dental procedures as a training device much like a simpler version of the dummy heads used by medical students, nurses and EMTs. DPR - Dental Products Report, see Impladent Inc / www.CalteXpress.com Facebook tab

    2) In conjunction with a few surgeons at Georgetown, I modified a zero gravity surgical chamber for dental applications if necessary for future space missions. Aviation Space and Environmental Medicine

    3) Nd:YAG laser dental procedures, periodontal curettage to maximize aesthtics, contouring and clotting. Lasers in Surgery & Medicine

    4) Laser experiments using the modified surgical chamber in space. "Terra Vista" c 1989 and "Deadly Implant" c1990

    5) "Terra Vista" sci fi thriller Gravity meets Space Cowboys type thriller utilizing my surgical chamber, see www.CalteXpress.com
