Transforming Lives of Children and Adolescents Through Pediatric Medicine

Dr. Stan L. Block, MD, FAAP, has been a highly respected member of Physicians to Children and Adolescents in Bardstown, Kentucky since July 1982. After joining this organization, he served as the president of Kentucky Pediatric and Adult Research, a prominent outpatient pediatric research group, from July 1990 to March 2023. 

Dr. Block’s academic journey began with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemistry from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, followed by his Medical Degree from the University of Kentucky College of Medicine in 1979. He then completed his internship and residency in pediatrics at Wake Forest University School of Medicine in 1980 and 1982, respectively.

As a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics (FAAP) and a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatrics (ABP), Dr. Block is dedicated to upholding the ABP’s mission of exemplifying pediatricians who meet standards of excellence and are committed to continuous learning and improvement.

His expertise extends beyond clinical practice, as he has served as an expert witness in pediatrics for over 15 years and has contributed valuable insights as a columnist for Pediatric Annals and Infectious Diseases in Children for more than two decades. His remarkable achievements have been recognized with 5 international awards from esteemed pediatric societies.

A sought-after speaker on infectious diseases, vaccines, general pediatrics, and ADHD, Dr. Block has shared his knowledge at Grand Rounds for 13 major academic centers nationwide. His active participation in pharmaceutical advisory meetings underscores his dedication to advancing pediatric care and promoting public health.

Throughout his illustrious career, Dr. Block has made significant contributions to the field of pediatric medicine, leaving a lasting impact on those he has served. With numerous publications to his credit, he holds the distinction of being the most published general pediatrician in the United States. 

Despite his professional accolades, Dr. Block remains grounded in his personal life. He resides in Bardstown, New York, where he enjoys spending time with his four daughters and nine grandchildren.
