    Foods high in Vitamin B12 include shellfish, liver, fish, crab, fortified soy products (tofu, soy milk), fortified cereals, red meat, low fat dairy, cheese, and eggs.     Hand swelling during exercise is a common problem. The cause isn't completely clear, but hand swelling appears to be a result of blood vessels dilating in response to the increased energy demands of your muscles during exercise. READ MORE

  • My second child is 14 months old and hasn't taken her first steps. Is something wrong?

    Some children do not walk until 14-15 months of age. They should definitely be cruising around furniture by that age (actually 9-12 months). However, if you are concerned, I recommend you tell your pediatrician about your child's development. READ MORE

  • Motion sickness in children?

    It depends on the age of the child, but doing things such as having them watch the horizon in front of the car, putting them as close to the front as possible, not eating large meals prior to travel, and not letting them read or watch videos on their lap all helps prevent the problem. You can also purchase sea bands to put on their wrists, try ginger suckers, and see if they would be willing to close his eyes and sleep/rest. If all else fails, medications such as odansetron, meclizine, and dimenhydrinate work wonders. READ MORE
