Get to know Physician Assistant Sarah Daniel, who serves patients throughout the State of Oregon.

Sarah is a certified physician assistant who specializes in preventing and treating human illness and injury by providing a broad range of care under the supervision of a physician. She joined Oregon Oncology Specialists in 2014.

Oregon Oncology Specialists is dedicated to providing the highest quality care, delivering outcomes that meet or exceed even the largest cancer centers. The doctors and advanced practice providers have decades of experience treating all types of cancer, and providing the best possible outcomes. They are highly trained experts who treat every patient with precision, confidence, and compassion at their four offices (Salem, Silverton, McMinnville, and Woodburn) in Oregon.

Originally from Michigan, Sarah graduated from Western Michigan University with a bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Sciences. She earned her medical degree from the Medical College of Ohio, graduating with a master’s from the Physician Assistant program.

In 2001, she began her oncology career at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston. Prior to relocating to Oregon in 2012, she served as stem cell transplant coordinator at Boston Medical Center and practiced at the University of Arizona Cancer Center. 

With a special interest in cancer survivorship and breast cancer in young women, Sarah currently helps lead Young Survivors PDX. She has been active in the Association of Physician Assistants in Oncology and has co-authored articles for the Journal of the Advanced Practitioner in Oncology.

A physician assistant is a health care practitioner who practices medicine in collaboration with physicians. They examine patients, prescribe medicine, and order diagnostic tests. In most cases, they work under the supervision of physicians or surgeons, but they can work more independently in some states, rural areas, and inner-city areas, consulting with physicians only when they need help with cases.

Outside of the office, Sarah enjoys spending time with her two young children, traveling, hiking, playing tennis, and gardening.
