Doctor Maria Nigrelli is a residency-trained optometrist specialized in advanced ocular disease, emergency care, low vision, specialty contact lenses, and binocular vision. Dr. Nigrelli is also proficient at myopia control, pre/post operative exams, amblyopia and pediatric care including infant and toddler exams.
Dr. Nigrelli is adamant about staying up to date with the most current research and standards of care. She is a member of the American Optometric Association. Dr. Nigrelli completed her residency in ocular disease at WJB Dorn Veterans Affairs Medical Center in South Carolina. She has completed externships at the Atwater Eye Care Center in Bloomington Indiana, Roudebush VAMC in Indianapolis Indiana, North Suburban Vision Consultants in Deerfield Illinois, and the Dorn VAMC in Columbia South Carolina.
Dr. Nigrelli earned her Doctorate of Optometry from the Indiana University School of Optometry in 2018, where she received the Deans Academic Merit Scholarship and graduated with High Honors. She attended the University of Connecticut where she received the Presidential Scholarship and graduated Summa Cum Laude with a double major in Animal Science and Pathobiology.
