Get to know Internist Dr. Chinedu O. Ejike, who serves patients in Maryland.

Dr. Ejike is an Adventist HealthCare affiliated community doctor specializing in internal medicine and critical care medicine in Maryland.

His hospital affiliations include Adventist HealthCare Fort Washington Medical Center and Adventist HealthCare White Oak Medical Center.

A passionate clinician, Dr. Ejike is adept in making informed decisions in managing a variety of patient diseases, especially pulmonary and critical care illnesses. He is skilled in the delivery of medical advice with a focus on patient assessments, correct clinical diagnosis, and effective treatment modalities. He also adequately collaborates with medical teams and healthcare workers concerning critical patient care, as well as ensures adherence to healthcare guidelines and standard medical practice. 

Graduating with his Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery degree from the College of Medicine at the University of Nigeria Nsukka in 2005, Dr. Ejike went on to further his training. He performed his internship and residency at Canton Medical Education Foundation, and his fellowship at The Johns Hopkins Hospital.

Specializing in the medical treatment of adults, he is board-certified in internal medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world. 

In order to stay up to date in his field, Dr. Ejike remains an active member of the American Medical Association, the American Thoracic Society, the Society of Hospital Medicine (Fellow), the American College of Physicians (Fellow), the Society of Critical Care Medicine, and the American College of Chest Physicians.

His current research focuses on obesity, adiposity and COPD comorbidities and their impact on quality of life and COPD outcomes.

Internal medicine is the medical specialty dealing with the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of adult diseases. Physicians specializing in internal medicine are called internists. They manage and prevent common and complex diseases by providing comprehensive care and promoting overall well-being.
