A recognized leader in robotic Whipple procedures and liver resections, he brings over 14 years of surgical experience to Emory Johns Creek Hospital. Dr. Nguyen serves as an assistant professor in Emory University’s Department of General Surgery, where he also trains future surgeons. Prior to joining Emory, he held key roles at Piedmont Atlanta Hospital and the University of Michigan. Dr. Nguyen is an active member of the American Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary Association and other leading surgical societies. He is known for combining technical precision with a strong commitment to improving patient outcomes. He earned both his medical and doctorate degrees from the prestigious Mount Sinai School of Medicine of New York University, complemented by a Ph.D. in Microbiology and oncogene signaling. His rigorous training includes a residency in General Surgery at the University of Michigan, followed by a specialized fellowship in Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary (HPB) Surgery at the renowned University of Pittsburgh Medical Center.
