A native of Brazil, he earned his medical degree from the Federal University of Ceara Faculty of Medicine in 2004. After relocating to the United States, he completed his residency in internal medicine at the University of Miami / Jackson Health System in 2009. Later, he completed his fellowship in cardiovascular disease at the Baylor College of Medicine in 2016.
