Get to know Internist Dr. Saif Altaie, who serves patients in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

A knowledgeable internist, Dr. Altaie is the Chief of the Hospitalist Division at the University of Oklahoma Medical Center. He also serves as a Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston.

University of Oklahoma Medical Center is the only comprehensive academic hospital in the state, offering the widest range of medical and surgical services in the region. Serving as Oklahoma’s only Level I trauma center, the hospital is a multi-state resource for every aspect of injury prevention and treatment.

Graduating with his medical degree from the University of Mosul in Iraq in 2004, he relocated to the United States and completed his residency in internal medicine at the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston.

Recognized as a Fellow of the American College of Physicians (FACP), the doctor is board-certified in internal medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world.

Internal medicine is the medical specialty dealing with the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of adult diseases. Physicians specializing in internal medicine are called internists. They manage and prevent common and complex diseases by providing comprehensive care and promoting overall well-being.
