Dr. Williams is an oncologist who is currently serving patients at Rockcastle Regional Hospital and Respiratory Care Center in Mount Vernon, Kentucky. The facility primarily serves Rockcastle and surrounding counties with its 26-bed acute care facility, but receives referrals for its 145-bed ventilator facility nationwide. It is a four-time winner of the Kentucky Hospital Association Quality Award and is accredited by the Joint Commission. Rockcastle Hematology/Oncology Clinic of Kentucky is accredited with the Commission on Cancer. 

Dr. Williams earned his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from The Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine in Virginia. He then went on to complete his residency in internal medicine at the University of Kentucky College of Medicine, followed by his fellowship in hematology/oncology at the same university. 

Dr. Williams is board-certified in internal medicine and medical oncology by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world.

Dr. Williams is a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO), as well as a member of the American Society of Hematology (ASH). 

Dr. Williams is the Cancer Committee Chair in addition to the Cancer Liaison Physician. He is involved in a lot of community outreach programs. Every month, he holds a social support group for patients and their families.

Oncology is a branch of medicine that deals with the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of cancer. As an oncologist, Dr. Williams is trained to diagnose and treat all types and forms of cancer. He may employ a variety of diagnostic tests such as biopsies, imaging tests, endoscopic tests and laboratory tests. He may also offer treatment techniques such as chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and directed systemic therapy to combat the spread of cancer.
