Transforming Women’s Health: Expert Care for Pelvic Floor Disorders and a Better Quality of Life
Vega Baja, Puerto Rico – Shayan Khorsandi Rodríguez, MD, FACOG, a distinguished physician specializing in obstetrics and gynecology, urogynecology, and minimally invasive surgery, proudly announces the establishment of the Pelvic Solution Institute in Vega Baja, Puerto Rico. This pioneering medical facility is dedicated to providing top-tier care for women, with a particular emphasis on pelvic floor disorders and urinary incontinence. Dr. Rodríguez collaborates closely with fellow gynecologist Dr. Paulina González-Carcache to fulfill their shared mission of enhancing women’s health throughout the region.
With a robust career that spans several years, Dr. Rodríguez has demonstrated a steadfast commitment to advancing women’s health and addressing the unique challenges they face. A major part of his vision is to educate women and destigmatize common pelvic conditions such as urinary and fecal incontinence, pelvic organ prolapse, and more. His approach emphasizes that women of all ages, from postpartum to advanced life stages, deserve to live fully and with dignity. At the Pelvic Solution Institute, the philosophy is simple: quality of life is priceless, and age should not limit access to care.
Dr. Rodríguez’s journey began at Ponce Health Sciences University, where he earned his Medical Degree in 2014. It was here that he discovered his passion for gynecology and obstetrics, leading him to complete his residency at Cooper University Health Care in Camden, New Jersey. His experience there honed his clinical and surgical skills, allowing him to build meaningful relationships with patients. However, his desire to specialize further in pelvic floor disorders led him to Stanford University Hospital in California, where he completed a fellowship in urogynecology. His time at Stanford was marked by a focus on innovative management and treatment of pelvic floor disorders, establishing him as a pioneer in the field.
In addition to his clinical excellence, Dr. Rodríguez is also a prolific researcher. His innovative studies on the application of magnetic resonance imaging to calculate pelvic organ prolapse volume have garnered acclaim within the medical community, including presentations at the Society of Gynecologic Surgeons. This research underscores his commitment to advancing medical knowledge and improving patient outcomes.
Since returning to Puerto Rico in August 2023 to establish the Pelvic Solution Institute, Dr. Rodríguez has been dedicated to integrating advanced treatment options for pelvic floor disorders into the local community. His commitment to providing access to state-of-the-art care reflects not only his professional goals but also his personal dedication to improving the lives of women in his hometown.
The Pelvic Solution Institute is set to redefine women’s health care in Puerto Rico. Dr. Rodríguez and his team are expanding their practice to include a multidisciplinary approach, bringing together specialists from various fields to address a wide array of health issues. This comprehensive care model ensures that each patient receives tailored treatment, whether facing general gynecological concerns or complex urogynecological conditions.
Utilizing the latest technologies and treatment methods, the Pelvic Solution Institute is dedicated to fostering a compassionate environment where women can seek care without fear of judgment. Both Drs. Rodríguez and González-Carcache emphasize that every woman deserves to be heard and treated with the utmost respect and dignity.
As Pelvic Solution Institute embarks on this important mission, Dr. Shayan Khorsandi Rodríguez invites women across Puerto Rico to take the first step toward better health.
