Get to know Neurologist Dr. Elie Dancour, who serves patients in Poughkeepsie, New York.

An established neurologist, Dr. Dancour is affiliated with Nuvance Health Medical Practices – Neurointerventional Surgery Poughkeepsie. He believes that the people of Dutchess County deserve the best, which includes access to the latest cutting-edge interventional neuroradiology care. His areas of expertise include endovascular mechanical thrombectomies for acute strokes, aneurysm embolizations and vascular malformation embolizations. He prides himself in detail-orientation and compassion when it comes to patient care.

Throughout his academic career, he earned his medical degree from Tulane University in 2011, and completed his residency in neurology at the SUNY Downstate Health Science Center in 2015. He then went on to complete his fellowship in critical care neurology at the Columbia University Medical Center in 2017, followed by a fellowship in neurointerventional surgery at Goodman Campbell Brain and Spine in 2019.

Following his training, the doctor attained board certification in neurology through the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN). The ABPN is a not-for-profit corporation dedicated to serving the professions of psychiatry and neurology.

In his professional experience, Dr. Dancour can be found on staff at Nuvance Health – Northern Dutchess Hospital, and Nuvance Health – Vassar Brothers Medical Center.

Neurology is a branch of medicine dealing with disorders of the nervous system.
