New Resource Aims to Bridge Gap in Long-Term Care Decision-Making for Families in New Jersey

Dr. Fish, a highly respected geriatrician, is the Founder of Reverse Parenting, a groundbreaking platform designed to empower families with the knowledge and resources needed to make informed decisions about long-term care for their loved ones. With over two decades of experience in healthcare and a deep commitment to the welfare of seniors, he has identified a critical gap in the decision-making process that families face when enrolling their parents in skilled nursing facilities.

As the medical director for Tapestry Health and supervising over twenty nurse practitioners across 12 states, he has witnessed firsthand the challenges families encounter. "Many families enroll their parents in these facilities before having their most important questions answered. This can lead to significant issues in their long-term care," he states. Reverse Parenting aims to address this issue by providing families with the necessary tools to ask the right questions and consider all aspects of care before making decisions.

Before embarking on his professional journey, Dr. Fish received his medical degree from St. George's University School of Medicine and completed his residency in Internal Medicine at Saint Peter's University Hospital/Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. He further specialized in Geriatric Medicine through a fellowship at the University of Hawaii. His professional affiliations include the American Board of Internal Medicine, the American Medical Association, and the Society for Post Acute and Long Term Care Medicine.

His extensive background includes 23 years of medical practice and 21 years of dedicated service as an Army medical officer. His experience includes deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan and serving as a qualified Flight Surgeon and Brigade Surgeon. He has also appeared on various media platforms, including News 12 N TV and WPDH Radio, sharing his insights on senior care and health.
