Get to know Advanced Heart Failure and Transplant Cardiologist Dr. Robby Wu, who serves patients in Tampa, Florida.

Dr. Wu is an exceptionally dedicated cardiologist in advanced heart failure and transplant medicine with keen interpersonal, communication, and educational skills. He is affiliated with the University of South Florida and can be found on staff at Tampa General Hospital.

Passionate about patient-focused care and medical education, he is committed to delivering superior clinical outcomes while maintaining currency in evidence-based research in the field of advanced heart failure and transplant cardiology.

Back in 2013, Dr. Wu graduated with his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. He then went on to perform his residency in internal medicine at Danbury Hospital in 2016 and his fellowship in cardiovascular disease at the University of South Florida Morsani College of Medicine in 2019. He also completed an additional fellowship in advanced heart failure and transplant cardiology at the said establishment in 2020.

The doctor is board-certified in internal medicine and cardiovascular disease by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world.

Continuously advancing his efforts, Dr. Wu is an active member of the American College of Physicians, the American College of Cardiology, the American Heart Association, the American Medical Association, the Heart Failure Society of America, and the International Society of Heart and Lung Transplantation.

Heart failure and transplant cardiology represents advanced training in cardiovascular disease and focuses on management of advanced or complicated heart failure beyond the scope of what is usually provided by general internists and general cardiologists. Heart failure and transplant cardiologists often practice in the context of cardiology clinics and centers in which cardiac transplantation is provided. However, consultative and co management services for other physicians managing patients with heart failure is often a significant aspect of practice.

On a more personal note, Dr. Wu is fluent in both English and Chinese.
