Get to know Family Practitioner, Dr. Sorivette Surillo-Ortiz, who serves patients in San Lorenzo, Puerto Rico

Dr. Surillo-Ortiz is a board-certified family practitioner practicing at COSSMA – San Lorenzo, Puerto Rico. COSSMA is a cutting-edge not-for-profit organization offering integrated and coordinated patient-centred and community-centered healthcare services.

Dr. Surillo-Ortiz received her medical degree in 2016 at San Juan Bautista School of Medicine in Caguas, Puerto Rico. She then completed her residency at John H Stroger Hospital of Cook County in Chicago, Illinois. She maintains active professional memberships with the American Academy of Family Physicians and the American Medical Association.

Subsequent to her training, Dr. Surillo-Ortiz received board certification in family medicine through the American Board of Family medicine (ABFM). Family medicine is a medical specialty within primary care that provides continuing and comprehensive health care for the individual and family across all ages, genders, diseases, and parts of the body.
