The mission of Capstone Family Medicine is to provide Alaska with the best, most comprehensive, quality family healthcare. This is achieved by providing board-certified physicians along with a caring, dedicated and professional staff. By offering same day appointments and maintaining hospital privileges, their doctors are available and capable to care for any illness that may arise.

Born and raised in the vast landscapes of Alaska, Dr. Dahms was inspired by his mother, Laurie, a respected family physician in Mat-Su, to follow in her footsteps. He embarked on his medical journey at the University of Washington School of Medicine, where he earned his medical degree. With a clear vision of returning to serve the unique healthcare needs of his Alaskan community, he pursued residency at North Colorado Family Medicine.

During this period, he focused on honing his skills in obstetrics, rural health, and full-spectrum family care. In residency, he earned recognition from the Society of Teachers in Family Medicine for his outstanding teaching abilities and held the esteemed position of Academic Chief Resident. 

Remaining at the forefront of medical advancements, Dr. Dahms actively collaborates with specialists, stays abreast of the latest research through journal readings, and participates in conferences. His dedication to staying current is evident in his utilization of cutting-edge technologies such as point-of-care ultrasonography and dermoscopy.

Family medicine is a medical specialty devoted to comprehensive health care for people of all ages. The specialist is called a family physician or family doctor. A family physician is often the first person a patient sees when seeking healthcare services. They examine and treat patients with a wide range of conditions and refer those with serious ailments to a specialist or appropriate facility.

On a more personal level, Dr. Dahms embraces the beauty of the Alaskan outdoors. He finds joy in biking, hiking, and skiing, often sharing these activities with his wife, children, and the family golden retriever. He also enjoys playing the piano and experimenting with cooking.
