Get to know Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist Dr. Aditi Garg, who serves patients in Plymouth, Minnesota.

Named a 2019 Top Doctor in Minnesota Monthly magazine, Dr. Garg is a board-certified child & adolescent psychiatrist whose professional interests include mood and anxiety disorders, post-traumatic stress disorder, and autism spectrum disorder. At present, she tends to patients at Allina Health Mental Health – Abbott Northwestern – WestHealth Clinic in Plymouth, Minnesota. 

The mental health clinic at Abbott Northwestern – WestHealth offers psychiatric services for adults, adolescents and children to help with depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, and psychosis. Specific services include diagnostic assessments, treatment, and discharge planning, medication management, and crisis services.

After graduating with her Medical Degree from the Sri Devaraj Urs Academy of Higher Education and Research in India in 2007, Dr. Garg relocated to the United States. There, she completed her residency at Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis. 

Fluent in both English and Hindi, the doctor is board-certified in psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, which is a not-for-profit corporation dedicated to promoting high-quality patient care for the public through the initial and continuing certification of psychiatrists and neurologists.

Child and adolescent psychiatry, also known as pediatric psychiatry, is a branch of psychiatry that focuses on the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of mental disorders in children, adolescents, and their families. A child and adolescent psychiatrist, like Dr. Garg, is a physician who specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of disorders of thinking, feeling, as well as behavior affecting children, adolescents, and their families.

Outside of practicing psychiatry, Dr. Garg enjoys biking.
