Get to know Family Physician Dr. Gohar S. Khan, who serves patients in South Daytona, Florida.

Dr. Khan is a family physician with over 40 years of experience. She is currently serving patients at her family medicine practice in South Daytona, Florida. There, she remains dedicated to providing each and every patient with personalized and compassionate health care services. She takes the time to get to know her patients and she strives to exceed their expectations every time they visit her office seeking her extensive medical expertise. “Healing Hands and Caring Hearts” is a philosophy that patients have the opportunity to experience every time they seek professional and compassionate medical treatment offered by Dr. Khan and her staff.

Dr. Khan is also affiliated with Halifax Medical Center and Florida Memorial Hospital of Ormond Beach. In addition to providing excellent family medicine care to generation after generation of patients, she offers her expertise to medical students at Keiser University, Daytona State College, and the University of South Florida. Nurse practitioner students from those learning institutions also receive practical, on-site training from Dr. Khan at her South Daytona office.

Dr. Khan earned her medical degree from Dow Medical College in Karachi, Pakistan in 1968. She then went on to complete her residency at Halifax Medical Center in Daytona Beach. Dr. Khan loves aviation, so it is fitting that she is an FAA-authorized aviation medical examiner for first class, second class, and third class pilots.

Family medicine, formerly family practice, is a medical specialty devoted to comprehensive health care for people of all ages; the specialist is called a family physician or family doctor. Family physicians are often the first person whom a patient sees when seeking healthcare services. They examine and treat patients with a wide range of conditions and refer those with serious ailments to a specialist or appropriate facility. In addition to treating illnesses, Dr. Khan offers a full complement of preventive medical services, including annual physicals, sports and school physicals, immunizations, geriatric care, and so much more. 

Dr. Khan enjoys watching sports and participating in sports games on her Wii. She was a table tennis champion during her college years.
