Get to know Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist Dr. Abbey Lynn Faruzzo, who serves patients in New York, New York. 

Dr. Faruzzo, a top child and adolescent psychiatrist, specializes in performing psychiatric evaluations and psychotropic medication management. She is the Medical Director of Graham Windham, a private nonprofit in New York, New York that provides services to children and families.

Graham Windham – Community Mental Health Services offer a variety of evidence-based treatment for children and young adults, 5-25 years of age, based on comprehensive psychiatric and biopsychosocial evaluations. The staff offer individual therapy, family therapy, psychopharmacology management, and support services. Their Manhattan Mental Health Clinic offers walk-in hours for immediate mental health assessments. Each treatment plan will be determined based on the needs of the individual patient. 

Additionally, she does Child Psychiatry Emergency Room shifts at the Cohen Children’s Medical Center Pediatric Psychiatry Emergency Room, Northwell Health.

After earning her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine, Dr. Faruzzo went on to complete her residency at St. Vincent’s Catholic Medical Center. This was followed by a fellowship within the Department of Psychiatry at Columbia University and Weill Cornell Medicine at NewYork-Presbyterian where she was the chief fellow. 

The doctor is dual board-certified in general psychiatry and child and adolescent psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, which is a not-for-profit corporation dedicated to promoting high-quality patient care for the public through the initial and continuing certification of psychiatrists and neurologists.  

Child and adolescent psychiatry, also known as pediatric psychiatry, is a branch of psychiatry that focuses on the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of mental disorders in children, adolescents, and their families. A child and adolescent psychiatrist is a physician who specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of disorders of thinking, feeling, as well as behavior affecting children, adolescents, and their families.
