Dr. Vivek Mahendru practices Pain Medicine in Central TX. Pain medicine is concerned with the prevention of pain, and the evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation of patients experiencing pain. Dr. Mahendru’s qualifications include: starting the first pain fellowship fund at Harvard Medical School, serving as a past secretary of the National Anesthesia Residents Section, pioneering the first national Residents Section in pain management, and serving as a former consultant to the Texas State Medical Board.
A 1989 graduate of Dayanand Medical College & Hospital in India, he completed multiple fellowships in pain therapy at Harvard Medical School and Texas Tech University. Before long, he became board-certified in anesthesiology by the American Board of Anesthesiology, whose mission is to advance the highest standards of the practice of anesthesiology.
