Get to know Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon Dr. Christopher Fanelli, who serves patients in Massachusetts.

A board-certified oral and maxillofacial surgeon, Dr. Fanelli treats adults within the Department of Oral and A board-certified oral and maxillofacial surgeon, Dr. Fanelli treats adult and pediatric patients within the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Massachusetts General Hospital. He is also a part of the team of professionals at Mass General Dental Group – Danvers.

The Department of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery delivers high quality, comprehensive oral and maxillofacial surgery patient care. This dedicated surgeon treats conditions that afflict the head, face, jaws, mouth and teeth. He has particular interest and sub-specialty training in minimally invasive oral and maxillofacial surgery including dental implant placement, bone grafting, removal of third molars, orthognathic jaw corrective surgery, TMJ arthroscopy, and minimally invasive facial trauma surgery. Dr Fanelli conducts maxillofacial endoscopic surgical procedures, and is committed to providing the best possible care and outcomes for his patients.

Located at Massachusetts General Hospital main campus and Mass General/North Shore Center for Outpatient Care, Mass General Dental Group – Danvers. Both institutions offer exemplary care facilities involving the full spectrum of oral and maxillofacial surgery services and dental care.

To begin his career, Dr. Fanelli earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Southern California-Herman Ostrow School of Dentistry in 2015. From there, he completed his residency in oral and maxillofacial surgery at the University of Miami Leonard M. Miller School of Medicine, followed by his fellowship in endoscopic maxillofacial and minimally invasive surgery at Massachusetts General Hospital – Harvard Medical School and the Harvard School of Dental Medicine.

Dr. Fanelli has and continuous to publish research in major peer reviewed journals, and lectures nationally and internationally.  He is an active member of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons.

Oral and maxillofacial surgery is a surgical specialty focusing on reconstructive surgery of the face, facial trauma surgery, the oral cavity, head and neck, mouth, and jaws, as well as facial cosmetic surgery. Oral and maxillofacial surgeons are healthcare specialists that treat a range of conditions affecting the hard and soft tissues of the face, mouth, jaws, teeth, and neck.
