Get to know General Surgeon Dr. Michael C. Keller, who serves patients in Houston, Texas.
Specializing in breast, colon, and abdominal surgeries, Dr. Keller has a long history of being in the operating room even though he recently graduated from surgical residency. He grew up shadowing his father and now partner in both the operating room and on the hospital floors.
Having always enjoyed being able to help people in their most dire times, he is excited to come back to Houston, Texas and join his father and his great legacy to continue to provide high quality care.
Growing up in Houston, Dr. Keller went to Baylor University in Waco for his undergraduate studies. He graduated with a biology major and minors in both chemistry and business administration.
He then came back to Houston where he attended the University of Texas at Houston Medical School, now called the McGovern Medical school. Upon completing medical school, he moved to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania where he completed his general surgery training at UPMC Mercy. While there, he was awarded the Laparoscopic Achievement Award (for most skilled with laparoscopic techniques of surgery) and certified by DaVinci to perform robotic surgery.
With years of experience, the doctor is board-certified in general surgery by the American Board of Surgery (ABS). The ABS is an independent, non-profit organization located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, founded for the purpose of certifying surgeons who have met a defined standard of education, training, and knowledge.
