Get to know Oncologist Dr. Mark Steven Lewis, who serves patients in Hollywood, Florida.

Well-versed in the field of oncology, Dr. Lewis works with patients at Oncology Associates of South Florida. He specializes in medical oncology, hematology and internal medicine, performing procedures like bone marrow biopsy and chemotherapy, as well as treating various cancers and malignancies.

Licensed to practice medicine in Florida and New York, he is also affiliated with Memorial Regional Hospital South and Memorial Hospital Pembroke.

In regards to his educational background, Dr. Lewis earned his medical degree from the University of Torino Faculty of Medicine in Italy in 1985. He then went on to complete his residency in internal medicine at North Shore University Hospital in 1988, followed by his fellowship in hematology-oncology with the North Shore – Long Island Jewish Health System in 1991.

A member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology, he is board-certified in medical oncology and internal medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world.

Oncology is a branch of medicine that deals with the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of cancer. A medical professional who practices oncology is an oncologist. They have special training in diagnosing and treating cancer in adults using chemotherapy, hormonal therapy, biological therapy, and targeted therapy.

Throughout his storied career, Dr. Lewis has been the recipient of various accolades, including the Patients’ Choice Award (2014), Compassionate Doctor Recognition (2014), and On-Time Doctor Award (2014).
