Get to know Otolaryngologist Dr. Scott W. Smith, who serves patients in Columbus, Ohio.

A board-certified and fellowship-trained otolaryngologist, Dr. Smith works with patients at his private practice – Smith Facial Plastics – in his hometown of Columbus, Ohio.

Smith Facial Plastics continually strives to provide patients with exceptional treatment in an inviting and professional environment. It offers the most comprehensive services and cutting-edge technology in facial plastic and reconstructive surgery, and educates patients with regards to the most effective, state-of-the-art techniques to help them achieve their individual goals.

Academically, Dr. Smith received his Bachelor of Arts degree with high distinction in Studio Art and Biology from the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, Virginia. It was here where he began to combine his interests in the study of fine arts and medicine. He returned to Columbus for medical school where he graduated cum laude from The Ohio State University College of Medicine. 

After receiving his medical degree, he stayed to complete his internship and residency in otolaryngology-head & neck surgery at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, one of the highest volume programs in the country and ranked #4 by US News & World Report. Following residency, he pursued a highly competitive fellowship through the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, matching at his top choice under the auspices of Dr. Edward Buckingham in Austin, Texas.

Passionate about his profession, the doctor is board-certified in otolaryngology-head & neck surgery by the American Board of Otolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery, which serves the public by ensuring that diplomates meet the standards of training, knowledge, and professionalism through initial and continuing certification.

Otolaryngology is the oldest medical specialty in the United States. Otolaryngologists, also known as ear, nose, and throat doctors, specialize in disorders of the head and neck, ranging from hearing loss to cancer.

During his free time, Dr. Smith enjoys spending time with his wife and two children. He loves traveling with his family, skiing, sailing, painting, playing squash, and The Ohio State Buckeyes. He also enjoys meeting new people and exploring new places.
