Born and raised in Saudi Arabia, Dr. Alzayer graduated with his medical degree from the University of Dammam in 2010. After relocating to the United States, he completed his residency in Internal Medicine at Baystate Medical Center / University of Massachusetts in 2017.
Subsequently, he was selected by the Internal Medicine faculty for a Chief Resident role where he had various clinical, leadership, and teaching roles for training residents including lectures, Internal Medicine grand rounds, journal clubs, and simulation labs and worked along the faculty in the improvement of the Internal Medicine Residency Program. Finally, he completed his Fellowship in Gastroenterology at Georgetown University in 2021.
Following his training, the doctor attained board certification in gastroenterology and internal medicine through the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world.
Among his professional affiliations, Dr. Alzayer is a proud member of the American College of Gastroenterology, the American Gastroenterological Association, the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, and the American Medical Association.
As for his academic appointment, he serves as an Assistant Professor of Medicine at Georgetown University.
