Dr. Michael Reopelle joined the esteemed general surgery department at PeaceHealth in 2022. He brings a wealth of experience and expertise to General, Colorectal, and Trauma Surgery at PeaceHealth Marble Clinic located within PeaceHealth St. Joseph Medical Center and General Surgery at PeaceHealth Northwest Medical Center. 

Dr. Reopelle’s areas of specialization include surgical repair of hiatal and abdominal wall hernias, trauma surgery, and colorectal surgery. Patients can trust in his dedication to providing high-quality care and personalized treatment plans.

Upon earning his Medical Degree from the University of South Dakota Sanford School of Medicine, Dr. Reopelle completed advanced surgical training at Virginia Mason Medical Center in Seattle. He then obtained board certification through the American Board of Surgery, ensuring the highest standards of care for his patients.

Prior to joining PeaceHealth, Dr. Reopelle served as a surgeon at Olympic Medical Center in Port Angeles and held a role as a clinical assistant professor. His experience as a combat medic in the Army National Guard has honed his skills in trauma surgery, emphasizing his commitment to providing exceptional care in all situations.

Passionate about innovation in surgery, Dr. Reopelle is particularly interested in advanced minimally invasive laparoscopy, enhanced recovery after surgery, and trauma systems in rural healthcare settings. His dedication to staying at the forefront of surgical advancements benefits his patients by offering the latest techniques and treatments.

Reflecting on his career choice, Dr. Reopelle says, “I chose surgery as it provides me with the opportunity to effect immediate change in a patient’s life. Furthermore, being present for patients during times of potential vulnerability and helping guide them through their experiences is something I find fulfilling.”

Away from the operating room, Dr. Reopelle enjoys trail running, hiking, woodworking, reading, and spending time with family. His holistic approach to life and patient care underscores his commitment to overall well-being.
