Get to know Nurse Practitioner, J. Carol Gould, who serves patients in Atlanta, Georgia.

Carol is a board-certified nurse practitioner currently affiliated with Alliance Spine and Pain Centers in Atlanta, Georgia. She has over 20 years of experience in nursing in a variety of fields including forensics, oncology, psychiatry, pain management, and primary care. She joined the Alliance team in 2021.

Back in 1998, Carol earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from Kennesaw State University, before obtaining her Master of Science in Accounting degree (MSA) from Central Michigan University in 2003. Later, she received her certification in forensic nursing as a Sexual Assault Forensic Examiner (SANE) in 2018, and graduated with her Master of Science in Nursing degree from South University in 2020. She is also a certified aerobics instructor.

An authority in her field, she is board-certified as a nurse practitioner by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. She is an active member of the Georgia Association of Forensic Nursing, the Georgia Nurses Association, and the American Society for Pain Management Nursing in order to keep current in her field.

Among her most notable achievements, Carol was inducted in the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society in 2020.

A Certified Nurse Practitioner (NP-C) is an advanced practice registered nurse. Nurse Practitioners hold certification and are trained to assess patient needs, order and interpret diagnostic and laboratory tests, diagnose disease, as well as formulate and prescribe treatment plans.
