Dr. Steven Tavernaro, known affectionately as Dr. Steve, is a skilled chiropractor at Columbia Chiropractic Center, where he is dedicated to providing exceptional care to his patients. With a strong emphasis on manual adjusting, trigger point therapy, and targeted exercises that address the root cause of pathology, he is committed to helping individuals heal and empower themselves to achieve optimal well-being.

Dr. Steve brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to his practice, with a Doctor of Chiropractic Degree from Palmer College of Chiropractic – Davenport and a Master of Science Degree in Psychology. His commitment to ongoing learning is evident through his additional training in various chiropractic techniques, including Blair [upper cervical technique], Atlas Orthogonal [upper cervical technique], Cox Flexion Distraction, Thompson technique, Gonstead technique, Toggle technique, Palmer package, NIMMO, Activator, and soft tissue extremities management.

Among his professional affiliations, Dr. Steve is a proud member of the International Chiropractic Association, the Missouri Chiropractic Physicians Association, Delta Sigma Chi fraternal alumnus, Knights of Columbus – Sir Knight, and Bricklayers and Allied Crafts Local 15 MO/KS/NE. His dedication to his field is further exemplified by the accolades he has received, including the prestigious Virgil V. Strang Chiropractic Philosophy Award (2020) and Delta Sigma Chi Outstanding Graduate awards.

After a successful career as a DoD contractor in different parts of the United States, Dr. Steve returned to his roots in Missouri, settling in Columbia. His last assignment in Colorado amplified a love of mountains and the outdoors, translating into his personal life as he enjoys hiking, scuba diving, skiing, hunting, and mountain biking. He also enjoys watching his children grow and equally embrace a love of learning and outdoors.
