Direct Orthopedic Care, DOC, is a walk-in, immediate access orthopedic clinic, open 7 days a week with no appointment necessary. The DOC team consists of board-certified, fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeons and specialty-trained physician assistants; pain management physicians and pain management specialty-trained physician assistants.
An Austin transplant from Strongsville, Ohio, Nicole stuck to her Ohio roots by attending undergraduate school at the University of Cincinnati. She then attended graduate school at Kettering College before heading south, hoping to leave the Ohio winters behind.
Since a young age, she has been drawn to orthopedics and sports medicine with exposure to injuries in softball and her father’s line of work, medical device sales. Her daily goal is to relate to her guests on a personal level and educate them regarding their injuries.
Board-certified through the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants, Nicole is an active member of the Texas Academy of Physician Assistants and the American Academy of Physician Assistants.
A Certified Physician Assistant (PA-C) is a health care practitioner who practices medicine in collaboration with physicians. PAs are medical professionals, educated in the medical model to complement physician training, and assist the physician in many aspects of the practice. PAs are trained to take medical histories, perform physical examinations, order and interpret laboratory tests, diagnose illness, develop and manage treatment plans, prescribe medications, and assist in surgery.
Most of Nicole’s free time is spent exercising her energetic black lab/ border collie mix, Bueller, along with her boyfriend, Brennan. They enjoy taking him hiking, swimming, and to Bee Caves dog park. When she has time to herself, one can find her exploring Austin’s legendary food scene, trialing various exercise classes, binge watching reality television, reading books, and eating Hot Cheetos.
