A native Texan, Dr. Rushing attended the University of Texas at San Antonio, where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. He received his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine degree from Barry University’s School of Podiatric Medicine in Miami Shores, Florida and graduated Valedictorian for the class of 2016. He then completed a three-year podiatric medical and surgical residency, with the added credential of reconstructive rearfoot and ankle surgery, at Westside Regional Medical Center in Plantation, Florida.
This was followed by an additional one-year fellowship in advanced reconstruction at the prestigious Orthopedic Foot & Ankle Center in Worthington, Ohio. There, Dr. Rushing focused his skills among some of the world-renowned fellowship-trained foot and ankle surgeons, from both orthopedic and podiatric backgrounds.
The doctor is a Diplomate of the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery (ABFAS). The ABFAS is an independent, nonprofit organization dedicated to serving the public interest by promoting excellence in the art and science of podiatric surgery through certification.
