Melissa Rusch, PT, DPT, PCS is a board-certified pediatric clinical specialist and founder of Strong Start Pediatric Therapy, a practice dedicated to providing expert in-home physical therapy services for children. Melissa’s approach centers on delivering compassionate, family-focused care designed to help children achieve their full potential in gross motor development and daily activities. With advanced training in techniques such as Dynamic Movement Intervention (DMI), Neurodevelopmental Treatment (NDT), Total Motion Release (TMR Tots), and serial casting, Melissa specializes in treating developmental delays, motor skill challenges, and neurological and orthopedic conditions. Her therapy sessions are engaging, evidence-based, and personalized to each child’s unique needs and abilities, empowering parents and caregivers with practical tools to support progress at home. Melissa earned her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Touro College after completing her undergraduate studies in psychology at Binghamton University. She further distinguished herself by completing a pediatric residency and achieving board certification as a Pediatric Clinical Specialist (PCS). Passionate about collaboration, Melissa works closely with families and multidisciplinary care teams to foster a holistic and supportive environment for children’s growth and independence. Outside of her professional work, she enjoys outdoor activities and spending time with her family.
