Merging Compassionate Care with Executive Strategy to Redefine the Future of Modern Medicine

New Orleans, Louisiana – Stratton Reichen, MD, ACHE, ACP, is redefining the landscape of healthcare leadership with a career dedicated to clinical excellence, community impact, and innovative healthcare solutions. With a strong academic background and a commitment to patient-centered care, Dr. Reichen is poised to make a significant difference in the healthcare industry.

His journey began at Oklahoma State University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Physiology in 2012. His dedication to the field of healthcare led him to the American University of the Caribbean School of Medicine, where he earned his Doctor of Medicine Degree in 2017. Currently, Dr. Reichen is expanding his strategic capabilities as a candidate in the Executive MBA program at Tulane University’s A.B. Freeman School of Business, set to graduate in 2026. This immersive program focuses on innovative business strategy, financial mastery, and proactive leadership, which are essential skills for bridging the gap between medicine and business.

Dr. Reichen’s clinical journey commenced at Ochsner Health, where he completed a comprehensive internal medicine residency from 2017 to 2020. During his residency, he developed expertise in managing complex medical cases, particularly in transplant medicine and value-based care. His time at Ochsner enriched his critical thinking, problem-solving abilities, and capacity for multidisciplinary collaboration, all of which serve as a foundation for his current roles.

In July 2020, Dr. Reichen took on a leadership position as Associate Director of Hospital Medicine at Touro Infirmary, part of LCMC Health in New Orleans. His efforts focus on enhancing hospitalist practices and patient outcomes while fostering a culture of teamwork and excellence in care delivery. In addition to this role, he serves as a Locums Hospitalist with SCP Health, providing high-quality inpatient care in St. Bernard Parish County and supporting hospitals in need of experienced medical staff.

In January 2023, Dr. Reichen further broadened his impact as the Medical Director at Passages Hospice. In this role, he emphasizes compassionate care for inpatient and home hospice patients, ensuring dignity, comfort, and family-centered support at the end of life. His leadership in hospice care is characterized by empathy and collaboration with interdisciplinary teams, reinforcing his commitment to holistic patient care.

Beyond his clinical and leadership roles, Dr. Reichen is deeply committed to community service and advocacy through the American Cancer Society. He served as a Board Member from 2021 to 2024 and rejoined the organization in March 2025 as a leader with Shuck Cancer New Orleans. His dedication to community engagement and cancer awareness exemplifies his passion for making a positive impact beyond the hospital walls.

Dr. Reichen’s unique blend of medical expertise, business acumen, and heartfelt dedication to patient care positions him as a transformative leader in healthcare. He attributes much of his success to the discipline and resilience cultivated through years of competitive gymnastics, instilling a strong work ethic and commitment to excellence.
