- The passion to help these kids that have that have been, been dealt a hard hand. We, I think I\'m fortunate enough to have found like-minded individuals that I\'ve hired and we all just, we think we have the coolest jobs in the world because we\'re helping kids with special needs, help them with their mobility goals, you know, help them stand, help them learn how to walk, help them learn how to run if they\'re, if they have that ability, you know. We really just get to work with the coolest kids on the planet.

David Patterson is at the helm of a groundbreaking venture in pediatric orthotics – Goal Pediatric Orthotics, based in Salt Lake City, Utah. Before embarking on his career as an orthotist, David honed his skills as an athletic coach and spearheaded youth programs with a renowned Utah non-profit organization. His journey towards specializing in pediatric orthotics began during his time as a pre-medical student at the University of Utah, where he volunteered at Shriners Hospital for Children. It was there that he discovered his calling and resolved to make a difference in the lives of children through orthotic interventions.
Furthering his education and commitment to pediatric care, David pursued a Master’s Degree in Orthotics and Prosthetics at Baylor College of Medicine. His residency training was tailored towards pediatric orthotic practices, equipping him with the expertise to cater to the unique needs of young patients.
Following his residency, David co-founded a pediatric orthotics clinic in Houston, Texas, where he collaborated closely with dual-certified physical therapists and orthotists. His dedication and success led to the establishment of a new practice in Austin, Texas, expanding access to specialized care for children in need.
Driven by a desire to be closer to family and drawn back to the scenic landscapes of Utah, David and his team launched Goal Pediatric Orthotics, a mobile clinic dedicated to serving the pediatric population. By offering personalized care and innovative solutions, the clinic is setting new standards in pediatric orthotics services, ensuring that children can thrive and reach their full potential.
On a personal note, David’s fluency in both English and Spanish enables him to connect with a diverse range of families and provide comprehensive care to Spanish-speaking communities. His commitment to inclusivity and excellence underscores Goal Pediatric Orthotics’ commitment to making a lasting impact on children’s lives.
