About me
Hello! I'm Heather Skomski, a dedicated Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner specializing in adult-gerontology care with Forest Path Psychiatry & Healing. As a telehealth provider, I’m thrilled to connect with clients across Colorado. My focus is on delivering compassionate care to those tackling challenges such as oncology, sickle cell conditions, midlife transitions, grief, PTSD, and mood disorders. Whether you're dealing with acute or chronic psychiatric concerns, I'm here to support you every step of the way.

I'm committed to holistic patient care and often work closely with a team of healthcare professionals to craft the most effective treatment plans. Constant learning is key to my practice, and I make sure to stay informed on the latest in healthcare for the benefit of my patients. My experience in diverse settings, including the Emergency Room, equips me to manage complex cases with confidence and care.

Ensuring that each of my patients receives personalized and empathetic care is my top priority. With a strong educational background from Kent State University and a variety of certifications, I'm well-equipped to provide the clinical support you need. I look forward to accompanying you on your healthcare journey with understanding and expertise.

Treatment philosophy
My treatment philosophy centers around compassionate, patient-focused care. I believe in collaborating with my patients and their families to create individualized treatment plans that address their unique needs. My experience with oncology and sickle cell care allows me to manage complex medical and emotional challenges with sensitivity and understanding. I value open communication and actively involve my patients in their own care journey. I stay current with the latest treatments and research to provide the best care possible. Together, we can navigate health challenges while promoting wellness and enhancing quality of life. I am here to advocate for my patients and help them thrive.

Practice description
~~At Forest Path Psychiatry & Healing, we strive to put the humanity back into psychiatry, both for staff and clients. We’re a community of dedicated Psychiatric Nurse Practitioners focused on providing truly personalized care. Our mission is simple: We offer mental health services that are as unique as you are, with a strong emphasis on accessibility, respect, and a holistic approach to well-being. We’re here to break down the barriers to quality care, especially for those who face systemic pressures and are often overlooked in traditional mental health settings.

~~We wish to offer you a safe, judgment-free space where authenticity is encouraged, laughter is welcome, and healing happens on your terms. Whether you're navigating trauma, facing mental health challenges like anxiety and depression, or seeking support through life’s transitions, we are here to help you rediscover your strength and build resilience. We specialize in working with marginalized communities, including LGBTQAI2+ individuals, BIPOC communities, women, and trauma survivors, always with a focus on inclusivity and identity-affirming care.

~~At Forest Path, we believe mental health care should be comprehensive—addressing not just symptoms, but also the underlying social, economic, and environmental factors that influence your well-being. We integrate evidence-based practices with a human connection to create a treatment plan that fits your life and honors your experiences.

~~Our team is committed to ensuring your treatment is not just about managing symptoms—it’s about supporting you through the complexities of life, helping you grow, heal, and thrive. We’re proud to stand by you on your journey, offering support that’s compassionate, collaborative, and grounded in empathy. At Forest Path, it’s not just about care—it’s about transformation.
