Dr. David Oster (ND, FABNO) is a naturopathic physician practicing in Conifer, CO.
His practice (Oster Oncology) specializes exclusively in integrative oncology, focused on improving patients' tolerance of their conventional cancer treatments and offering them evidence-based guidance to navigate natural options with potential anti-tumor activities.
Individualized and comprehensive treatment plans are formulated for patients that are specifically matched to (1) their diagnosis and unique pathology, (2) where they find themselves in their case (active treatment, survivorship, etc.), (3) their recommended standard therapies (to proactively prevent commonly seen complications), and (4) to address any currently presenting side effects and intolerances impacting quality of life.
The goal is to protect the quality of life of patients so that they can remain strong on therapy; avoiding complications that commonly lead to dose reductions and/or treatment abandonment, so that they can get the most out of their treatments while still tolerating them.
Patients receive plans with specific recommendations that:
- ensure safe integration (drug-herb interactions, supplement reconciliations).
- consider the unique side-effect profiles for individual chemotherapies, radiation, immuno- and targeted therapies, to be proactive in side-effect mitigation.
- deliver evidence-based guidance and treatments in the arena of natural compounds with potential anti-tumor activity; steering patients away from exaggerated claims while directing them to the encouraging short-list of valid options.
** Evidence-based dietary and lifestyle plans are also provided for their potential to impact active cases and also decrease recurrence risk.
** Patients' oncology providers are informed of these integrative recommendations, and open communication with oncology teams are established to ensure transparency and coordination of care.
** Video-consultations
