Years later, he served his residency in general surgery and his fellowship in cardiothoracic surgery at the same educational venue in 2002 and 2006, respectively.
In part from a long-standing history of heart disease in his own family, he pursued his dream of becoming a physician, specializing in the cardiothoracic field. Named a 2020 Top Doctor in Bergen Magazine, Dr. Batsides is board-certified in general surgery by the American Board of Surgery, an independent, non-profit organization located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, founded for the purpose of certifying surgeons who have met a defined standard of education, training, and knowledge.
Furthermore, he is board-certified in cardiac and thoracic surgery by the American Board of Thoracic Surgery, an American surgical organization devoted to surgery of the chest.
In good standing with a number of professional organizations, Dr. Batsides is a member of the American College of Cardiology (Fellow), the International Society of Heart & Lung Transplantation, the Society of Thoracic Surgeons, and the American Medical Association. He also lectures nationally and internationally on topics of cardiogenic shock and diseases of the aorta.
