Beth Sweney, PA-C is the cofounder of River City Dermatology in Grand Rapids, MI.  Previously, she was the Clinical Supervisor of the Psoriasis and Eczema Treatment Center for over four years. Beth graduated Summa Cum Laude from Ferris State University, where she was named The Outstanding Graduate in Biology. She then obtained her masters in physician assistant studies from Grand Valley State University (GVSU) and is now Affiliated Clinical Faculty for GVSUs Master of Physician Assistant Studies (MPAS) program and a Fellow of the Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants (SDPA). She is a nationally recognized expert in chronic inflammatory skin disease such as psoriasis, eczema/atopic dermatitis, and hidradenitis suppurativa. 

Beth has managed one of the largest psoriasis patient populations in the nation and is a frequently consulted for her expertise on treatment, psoriasis protocol development, and biologic management. She is passionate about improving patientsquality of life through controlling their chronic skin disease.  She believes everyone deserves to feel comfortable in their own skin.

Graduating Summa Cum Laude from Ferris State University in 2016, Beth was named The Outstanding Graduate in Biology. She then obtained her Master’s Degree in Physician Assistant Studies from Grand Valley State University (GVSU) in 2018 and is now Affiliated with the Clinical Faculty for GVSU’s Master of Physician Assistant Studies (MPAS) Program.

Having managed one of the largest psoriasis patient populations in the nation, Beth previously served as the Clinical Supervisor of the Psoriasis and Eczema Treatment Center for over four years.

Among her professional affiliations, she is recognized as a Fellow of the Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants and as a member of the American Academy of Physician Associates.

As a nationally renowned speaker and passionate educator, Beth is frequently sought after for her expertise in medications, protocols, and pathophysiology related to chronic skin diseases. Her dedication to research is evident through the publication of her first research article on psoriasis in January 2024. 

Outside of her professional endeavors, Beth enjoys staying active through exercise and unwinding at her favorite vacation spot in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic.
