Bringing Expertise in Pediatric Anesthesiology and Congenital Heart Surgery

A prominent anesthesiologist, Dr. Cruz Beltrán is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Anesthesiology at UF Health in Gainesville. She specializes in Pediatric and Pediatric Cardiac anesthesia. She joined the esteemed department in July 2019, bringing with her a wealth of knowledge and experience from her previous role at Emory University, where she completed a fellowship in pediatric anesthesiology and pediatric cardiac anesthesia.

Regarding her educational background, she earned her medical degree from Fundacion Universitaria de Ciencias de la Salud, Hospital de San José in Bogotá, Colombia, before completing a rigorous residency in anesthesiology at the University of Texas and an internship in general surgery. 

Throughout her career, Dr. Cruz Beltrán has made significant contributions to anesthesiology, particularly through her involvement in various posters and conference presentations. Her research and clinical interests align with the department’s commitment to advancing pediatric anesthetic practices and improving outcomes for children with congenital heart disease.

In addition to her clinical responsibilities, she is actively involved in several professional organizations, including the Florida Society of Anesthesiology, the Society of Pediatric Anesthesia, and the Congenital Cardiac Anesthesia Society. Her membership in these organizations reflects her dedication to staying at the forefront of developments in pediatric anesthesiology and advocating for best practices in the field.
