Get to know Physician Assistant, Mr. Joshua Brooks, who serves patients in Austin, Texas.

Mr. Brooks is an exceptional orthopedic physician assistant specializing in orthopedic trauma and joint reconstruction. He works alongside Dr. Vilas Saldanha at Texas Orthopedics, Sports & Rehabilitation Associates, seeing patients at the Northwest Austin and Round Rock, Texas locations.

Renowned for his superior clinical and surgical skills, coupled with an extraordinary bedside manner, Mr. Brooks is a valued professional in his field. He currently serves as Lead PA at St. David’s Round Rock Medical Center, a Level 2 trauma center, utilizing his vast experience from Methodist Dallas Medical Center’s Level 1 trauma unit.

A Texas native, Mr. Brooks earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Biochemistry from McMurry University in Abilene, Texas. He then went on to pursue a Master of Physician Assistant Studies at Texas Tech University Health Science Center in Lubbock. 

Certified by the Texas Physician Assistant Board, Mr. Brooks attributes his success to his passion for his work, diligent work ethic, and the satisfaction he derives from seeing his patients thrive. His active memberships in honor and professional societies, along with his current DEA and Texas PA licensures, as well as Basic Life Support Certification, underscore his steadfast commitment to healthcare.

A Certified Physician Assistant (PA-C) is a health care practitioner who practices medicine in collaboration with physicians.  PAs are medical professionals, educated in the medical model to complement physician training, and assist the physician in many aspects of the practice. PAs are trained to take medical histories, perform physical examinations, order and interpret laboratory tests, diagnose illness, develop and manage treatment plans, prescribe medications, and assist in surgery.

Beyond his professional accomplishments, Mr. Brooks is an avid golfer, enjoying the sport in his spare time.
