Dr. Matthew T. Winterton, MD, FAAOS, a board-certified orthopedic surgeon specializing in hand and upper extremity surgery, is now practicing at Midwest Hand to Shoulder in St. Louis, Missouri. Dr. Winterton’s medical journey began at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania, where he earned his Doctor of Medicine degree. He completed his orthopedic surgery residency at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania and further specialized with a fellowship in hand and upper extremity surgery at Rush University Medical Center. His comprehensive training equips him to address complex conditions affecting the hand, wrist, elbow, and shoulder, as well as general orthopedic surgical conditions, including fractures. He has a special interest in peripheral nerve entrapment syndromes, such as carpal and cubital tunnel syndromes; reconstructive microsurgery; complex fractures; joint replacements; and treating injured workers. Dr. Winterton has participated in the evaluation and care of several high-profile cases across the country, including professional athletes.
