Phoenix Trauma & Critical Care Center proudly announces Dr. Christopher Mellon, DO, as its newest specialist in trauma and acute care surgery. As a board-certified trauma surgeon, Dr. Mellon commits to delivering rapid, expert surgical interventions and patient-centered support for those experiencing critical injuries in Phoenix and surrounding regions.

Dr. Mellon earned his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine and completed a rigorous residency in general surgery, followed by a fellowship in trauma and surgical critical care. With extensive experience in level I and II trauma centers, he provides advanced care for patients suffering from severe injuries due to motor vehicle crashes, falls, violence, and complicated abdominal emergencies. His extensive training equips him to perform life-saving procedures such as hemorrhage control, exploratory laparotomy, thoracotomy, and damage-control surgery with precision and composure.

At Phoenix Trauma & Critical Care Center, Dr. Mellon is valued for his calm leadership and multidisciplinary collaboration within high-stress environments. He leads trauma team activations and coordinates seamlessly with ICU personnel, emergency physicians, and rehabilitation specialists to ensure continuity of care from the operating room to patient recovery.
