Get to know Orthopedic Surgeon, Dr. Hossein Aziz, who serves patients in Birmingham, Alabama.

A fellowship-trained osteopathic orthopedic surgeon, Dr. Aziz is a part of the team of professionals at OrthoSports Associates, practicing at Princeton Medical Center and Hoover 150.

Bringing a unique skill set, he is well trained to treat spinal pathology from the base of the skull down to the pelvis. He has a particular interest in cervical, thoracic, and lumbosacral degenerative disease, disc arthroplasty, minimally invasive surgical techniques, spinal deformity, spinal trauma, and spine surgery.

After earning his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from the College of Osteopathic Medicine of the Pacific, Dr. Aziz went on to complete his residency in orthopedic surgery in Riverside, California. Upon finishing his residency, he and his family moved to Birmingham so that he could complete an AO spine surgery fellowship at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. 

Falling in love with the Southeast, he and his family chose to put down roots and raise their family in Birmingham. 

The doctor is board-certified in orthopedic surgery by the American Osteopathic Board of Orthopedic Surgery (AOBOS). The AOBOS is an organization that provides board certification to qualified Doctors of Osteopathic Medicine who specialize in the medical and surgical treatment of disorders of the musculoskeletal system.

Orthopedic surgery is the branch of surgery concerned with conditions involving the musculoskeletal system. Orthopedic surgeons use both surgical and non-surgical means to treat musculoskeletal trauma, sports injuries, degenerative diseases, infections, tumors, and congenital disorders.
